What Are the Key Precautions for Stainless Steel Laser Cutting?

With excellent corrosion resistance, high strength and stable performance, stainless steel is widely used in various industries. Laser cutting has become a core process in stainless steel sheet metal processing and precision component production. To ensure the stable operation of laser cutting equipment, improve processing accuracy and guarantee operational safety, operators must be proficient in the equipment structure, operating principles and standardized operation procedures. To standardize stainless steel laser cutting operations and avoid processing risks, the following summarizes a complete set of professional operating precautions for industry practitioners.

1. During the cutting process, operators shall firmly press the stainless steel workpiece with both hands and feed materials at a uniform and stable speed. Avoid applying excessive force when pushing the workpiece to the cutting area to prevent workpiece deviation and cutting errors. Meanwhile, gloves are strictly prohibited during laser cutting operations to avoid safety hazards caused by operating equipment components.

2. Operate in strict accordance with the cutting parameters marked on the equipment factory nameplate. Over-thickness cutting of stainless steel plates is forbidden. Overloaded operation will not only damage the core components of the equipment, but also cause rough cutting sections and workpiece scrapping.

3. When the workpiece is delivered within 300 millimeters of the saw blade, or when cutting small stainless steel materials, do not push the workpiece by hand. Special feeding tools must be used for auxiliary processing to eliminate potential safety risks of hands touching the cutting area.

4. During equipment operation, if the workpiece has abnormal jumping, impact vibration, or the equipment makes abnormal noise and jams, stop the machine and cut off the power immediately. Thoroughly check and eliminate faults before restarting the equipment for continuous operation.

5. It is strictly forbidden to inspect, disassemble, repair or maintain any components while the equipment is running. The processing debris accumulated on the saw table surface and in the component saw seams shall be cleaned timely with special tools. Do not pick up or wipe the debris directly by hand to prevent hand scratches and equipment faults.

6. After daily operation, complete comprehensive cleaning and maintenance of the equipment: thoroughly clean stains and debris on the equipment body, wipe off residual impurities on the saw blade, drain the remaining water in the water tank, arrange and store the cables, and finally place the equipment in a dry, ventilated, dark and moisture-proof environment to extend its service life.
