How to Solve the Problem of Rust Spots on Stainless Steel Coils
1. Chemical Methods
Apply pickling paste or spray to assist the rusted areas of the Stainless Steel Coil in repassivating, forming a chromium oxide film to restore its corrosion resistance. After pickling, it is crucial to rinse the coil adequately with clean water to remove contaminants and residual acid. Following treatment, repolish the surface using polishing equipment and seal it with polishing wax. For localized minor rust spots, a mixture of gasoline and oil in a 1:1 ratio can be used with a clean cloth to wipe away the rust.
2. Mechanical Methods
Mechanical methods include sandblasting, cleaning with glass or ceramic microbeads, immersion, brushing, and polishing. These techniques may remove contaminants caused by previously cleaned materials, polishing agents, or immersion materials. However, various contaminants, such as foreign iron particles, can become sources of corrosion, especially in humid environments. Therefore, mechanical cleaning of the surface should ideally be performed under dry conditions.
While mechanical methods can clean the surface of the Stainless Steel Coil, they do not enhance the material's inherent corrosion resistance. Thus, it is recommended to repolish the surface with polishing equipment after mechanical cleaning and seal it with polishing wax.
