What is the main difference between 304 Cold Rolled BA Stainless Steel Sheet and 304L Cold Rolled BA Stainless Steel Sheet ?

1. Chemical composition difference:
the biggest feature of 304L stainless steel is its low carbon content, usually less than 0.03%, while the carbon content of 304 stainless steel is relatively high, generally around 0.08%. This difference directly affects the performance of the two materials when welding, and 304L is more suitable for occasions where welding is required due to low carbon.
2. Mechanical properties comparison:
Although the yield strength and tensile strength of 304L stainless steel are slightly lower than 304 stainless steel, due to the good weldability brought by its low carbon content, the overall mechanical properties of 304L after welding are often better than 304. In addition, the elongation and toughness of 304L stainless steel also perform well, ensuring the reliability of the material during processing and use.
